Brian Booth Craig is a contemporary sculptor originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pennsylvania State University as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art.
Specializing in the bronze medium, Booth Craig creates female nudes that are imbued with a sense of agency. His work translates classically derived figures into contemporary icons. Mixing 21st-century gestures with surprising talismans, his statues are very much of our time despite the medium’s classical origins. Verist in nature, his figures capture moments of individual self-assertion.
Booth Craig is a former apprentice of the painter and sculptor Audrey Flack. His work has been exhibited extensively in the United States. Every year, he teaches at the Rome Art Workshops in Rome, Italy.
